🎭 The Secret Competition in the Underground Scene

There’s a quiet war in the underground.

Not the lyrical kind. Not the bar-for-bar type. I’m talking about the unspoken tension that exists between artists who are supposed to be building together—but deep down, some of them don’t want to see you shine.

They’ll smile in your face, maybe even drop a fire emoji under your post, but they’ll never share your track. Never plug your name in rooms you’re not in. Why? Because you moving forward reminds them they’re standing still.

And that’s the quiet truth most won’t say out loud:

Some artists in the underground don’t support you because they’re afraid you might pass them.

🤐 It’s Not Hate, It’s Insecurity

It’s easy to mistake silence for hate. But a lot of the time, it’s just insecurity masked as indifference. You start leveling up your sound, your visuals, your presence — and instead of celebrating, they start calculating.

“How did he get that collab?”

“Why is her reel blowing up and mine isn’t?”

“I’ve been doing this longer — why are they getting more love?”

They don’t want you to fail.

They just don’t want you to win more than them.

🧱 But Here’s the Thing…

This mindset is a trap.

If you’re in this for real, the only competition is your last version of yourself. Anyone who’s truly locked in knows that someone else’s success doesn’t take away from your own. In fact, when one artist in the underground breaks through, the door opens wider for everyone.

But ego is loud.

And ego doesn’t clap unless it’s holding the mic.

💡 What I Learned

I used to take it personal.

Now I take it as fuel.

Every ignored DM, every fake dap, every time someone goes ghost after you level up — it’s all part of the game. You learn who’s really in your corner. And you learn that real support is louder than a story share. It’s consistency. It’s collaboration. It’s being unshaken by someone else’s momentum.

So if you’re out here feeling the same energy — keep moving.

Keep leveling up.

Keep being undeniable.

And when you break through, remember who stayed silent.

Because the underground has two types of artists:

The ones who build with you…

And the ones watching, hoping you slow down.

Which one are you?
